Lots of fans and critics alike have called for more books with him. You're suddenly using a party with characters you haven't used in a while (or ever), two of which have nearly empty inventories aside from weapons and armor, and must fight through at least three extremely difficult combats, in which the enemies are wearing and wielding magically enhanced armor and weapons (which hadn't been seen before in the game), before making it to the nearest town. Difficulty Spike: The beginning of Chapter V is a great example of this.If they're lucky, they'll have enough time to fire off one spell before being blasted away by magic, or just chased down and beaten to death in melee while helplessly running around. The Tsurani Spellweavers battled in the final chapter are supposed to be elite magicians, but most of them battle your team alone. He just wasn't supplied with the few flunkies necessary to make him actually somewhat challenging. The oddest part is that someone took great care to make him a viable boss - he's one of the few enemies in the first chapters to carry heavily enchanted weapons, and is immune to most major insta-death (or equivalent) spells. However, he fights you solo, against three PCs, one of whom is a mage who can keep him permanently stunlocked with Fetters of Rime. The master of the Nighthawks is a major villain, and perhaps the third most important enemy in the game story-wise. No doubt, it hits hard and has a lot of health, but it is easily stunlocked by Owyn casting Despair Thy Eyes while Locklear and Gorath have all the time they need to whittle it down. The Brak Nurr is a minor boss that can be fought within minutes of starting the game if you choose to head straight there.
